Adam (Donzanti)

 

 

Adam Paul Donzanti, 98, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2024 to be with the Lord. Adam was born September 17, 1926 to the late Josephine (nee Colonnese) and James Donzanti. He is survived by his three loving daughters, Deborah Klose (late Francis X. Jr.), Rebecca Offner (Patrick), Ruth Viehman (Greg) and their mother (Philomena Robertson); grandchildren Francis X. Klose III (Megan), Kristina Erbele (Matthew), Brendan, Cameron and Hannah Viehman; great grandchildren Nicholas and Tyler Erbele, and Katherine Klose.

He attended Upper Darby High School, West Chester University, graduating with a B.S. in Health & Physical Education and Biology, and an M.S. in Education from Temple University. As a veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served in the South Pacific during WWII.

Adam was an educator, disciplinarian, and successful athletic coach in The School District of Philadelphia for over 35 years and directed the Day Camp and Swim Club at Somerton Springs Swim Club for 45 years where he touched many lives both young and old. He loved coaching, especially football at Olney and George Washington High Schools. He was very active in the Presbyterian Church, serving as an Elder and Deacon for many years; the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Bethanna Home for Children, and Habitat for Humanity.
