Gerald Weinert

Gerald J. Weinert, of Warminster passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2014 in Abington Memorial Hospital. He was 66. Gerald was the devoted husband of Carol (Verbitski) Weinert, with whom he shared 43 years of marriage. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late John & Marie (Hettle) Weinert. Gerald was a police officer for the City of Philadelphia, retiring after 20 years of service. Outside of work, he enjoyed spending time with his family, and will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him. In addition to his wife, Gerald is survived by daughters Karen Cummins (Ted), Christina Weinert (Jon Baer), Melissa Myers (Tommy), 4 grandchildren, a sister Patricia Casey (Weinert), and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his viewing on Monday, January 5 between 7 and 9 PM in Schneider Funeral Home, 431 N. York Road, Hatboro and on Tuesday, January 6 after 9:30 AM in Nativity of Our Lord Church, 605 W. Street Road, Warminster. His funeral mass will begin at 10:30 AM on Tuesday. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Huntingdon Valley.

I sat near Gerry at Graduation from Olney. He was shy and soft spoken and a really nice guy. So sorry for you loss.

I remember Jerry fondly. Although a year behind me, he was part of the many friends I ate lunch with. He was a genial funny guy. After graduation I met him briefly near Temple U and he was so proud and excited to be taking classes for Philly Police force. A very nice guy. Peace and love to his family and friends.

To the family, sorry to hear of your loss.  May your family and religion help you hold fast.  Remember the good memories about Gerald.  To the wife I loss my husband 2 1/2 yrs ago.  I went to a grief support group for about 1 yr....it helped.  If you need that seek one in your area out.  My prayers are with you and your family.

Gerry's yearbook picture says it all. He was a wonderful man with a magical smile that brightened any room. Our thoughts and prayers are  with his family at this difficult time.
