I am shocked and saddened to see the announcement of Davis' passing. Dap, as he was known to many, and I were in several classes together, but more importantly to me, we were teammates for three years on Coach Dorf's track team. After so many years, I was looking forward to seeing him at the reunion to talk about old times and have a few laughs. For me, the "takeaway" from this news is to reach out and reconnect now with classmates who have been found, rather than waiting until later.
Like other classmates, I too am saddened to learn that 'Dap' is no longer with us. A gifted athlete and terrific teammate, he brought honor to Olney High and provided many thrills with his extraordinary performances as a dynamic football player and track star. He will be missed by his family and many friends! Jim Golden
Well this is very sad news. I too knew Davis very well. In fact he often wrote poetry to me. He often walked me home from school and sit and talk with me. He had a gentle and very sweet spirit and yes, so handsome. I wish I knew something about his adult life. Did he have children and wife? Did he have a happy life? Wow! So many of us are not living as long as our parents. Too sad.
I was truly saddened when I received the news that another one of our beloved classmates had passed away. Many of us share fond memories of times spent with Davis. I remember the small group of young couples that strolled home from the movies at Esquire Theater on Broad and Olney; Sunday afternoon gatherings at my parent's home. These were 'the good ole' days, and I will forever cherish the memories (Davis, Raymond, Ian, Gregory White, Whylene Settles, Sissy and me (Sandra Brockington).
I to will miss Davis I got the call the day he pass but was unable to attend his service he made me smile with his cool smooth way of living soar on with the Angels ny friend and R I P GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN

I always thought that Dap was the ultimate cool dude - good looking, great dresser, and superb athlete. Sad to see that he's gone. RIP.
