I stand corrected, Ervin went on to South Carolina State (thank you Donald)  after High School and was a respected member of his class and community.  I am filling in the blanks for you brother, and for the record we will miss you greatly.

I will always remember Ervin....we washed his Dad's car the morning of the Senior Prom

and took our dates to the prom that night. The last time I saw Ervin was in college.

He was playing Football for South Carolina State versus my alma mater Tuskegee Institute.

Didn't know it would be the last time we would share a laugh......

Funny, I didn't think "now" was a good time to post comments about memories of my classmates so long gone. So, it was great reading these latest comments about Ervin who was my friend and classmate. He was so kind and gentle as big as he was. I have very fond and loving memories of Ervin. His sister Cynthia was my friend and club member. He was raised in a very warm and loving family. The last time I saw the family was in the summer 2009, when I visited Philly shortly after I retired from the FAA. I made a point to visit the family flower shop and many of them were there (his mom, Cynthia, and even his niece and nephew). I was excited to see them and they made me feel the same. We couldn't believe Barack Obama had made his way into the White House! Yes. I felt so sad when I first read Ervin had passed. Great to hear comments from the Brothers in my class. Thank you.

Big Erv.  Such a gentle giant but such a good friend and person.  The last time I saw you was at the flower shop.  Will surely miss you.

It's ironic that Erv was in the floral business, because he seemingly gave everyone he knew flowers while we could smell them. Erv was such a "Teddy Bear" - so-o-o kind and warm and friendly. Always doing and saying something nice that made you feel special. I would see him occasionaly while in college and spoke with him from time to time by phone when ordering arrangements for those in the Philadelphia area. Our conversations were never rushed and I always felt that he cared about what was being said.  Erv Beale will not be forgotten. My condolences to his family.
