Patricia Sandmann (Pomager)

Patricia Sandmann (Pomager)

Patricia Ann Pomager, 75, of Honey Brook/Downingtown, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2024 at Paoli Hospital. She was the beloved wife of James Lee Pomager, with whom she shared 52 years and 363 days of marriage.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Julius Joseph Sandmann and Ethel Eleanor Owens.

Pat found her greatest joy in being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She was deeply involved in her children's and grandchildren's lives, always present for important moments and everyday activities. She had a natural way of putting others at ease and ensuring they felt included. Her thoughtful gestures and genuine concern for others are what people will remember most about her.

Pat held a deep and abiding faith in Christ and was a dedicated member of Fairview Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Glenmoore for 36 years. She actively participated in various church endeavors, including serving as both a Sunday school teacher and superintendent. Her commitment to her faith extended beyond the classroom, as she also held leadership roles as a deacon and an elder. Pat was involved in church women's groups, where she found friendship and the opportunity to share her faith with others.

In addition to her husband, Pat is survived by her children, Jim Pomager and his wife Christy, Dennis Pomager and his wife Kate, and Stephanie Joy Ferrell and her husband Billy; ten grandchildren, Julia, Dennis, Nate, William, Ryan, Elizabeth, Rebecca, Susie, Jake, and Danielle; and a sister, Peg Gallagher. She was predeceased by a sister, Gerry Gallagher, and brothers Gerry Sandmann, Jim Sandmann, Tom Sandmann, and Joe Sandmann.

An evening viewing will be held at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, from 5:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, September 19, 2024.

A funeral service will be held at Fairview Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 800 Fairview Road, Glenmoore, on Friday, September 20, 2024 at 10:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Fairview Evangelical Presbyterian Church or The Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.

I am so sad to learn that my best childhood friend has passed on. Pat and I walked to elementary school together and always quizzed each other before a test. I went to her house Christmas Eve to help decorate her tree. Her dad set up the best train set every year at Christmas. I will always carry with me  fond memories of Pat. My deepest condolences to her family.

Sometimes you meet someone and you know they will always be your friend.  Pat and I met in 9th grade and had many fun adventures during our Olney years and after graduation.  We made several trips down the shore and even to the Poconos to visit my cousins.  Pat, Jim (her future husband) and I went to LaSalle College (Evening Division) together for a few years.  I thought they were a match even then.  Pat was a bridesmaid in my wedding January 2, 1971.  Jim was her date for the wedding.  They were already dating for a while and talked about getting married that night.  After I moved back to the area 20 years ago we met several times for lunch at Bahama Breeze in King of Prussia.  She was still the same kind and beautiful person as when we were young.  Thank you Pat for being a dear friend.  We miss you already.  Love you always and forever.

What a dear sweet girl Patty was, she was part of the Olney El gang, I was so saddened to hear of her passing. My mom just thought she was really special, every May in school we had "play day" where we would participate in races, dances etc well my mom took movies of the kids and Patty was featured more than me!!?? Condolences to her family, R.I.P. Patty

So sad to see another Olney alum go to Heaven, and Patty will definitely be there.  I remember her pretty face and smile.
