I was just informed of Kathy's passing by her daughter in law on Monday. She passed on Saturday 9/17/19. after having some health issues of late. When her obit comes out I will pass it along to Ira.
What can I say about Kathy? I never really knew her until Senior Class Trip, when the infamous bus #16 broke down on th Jersey Pike. A bunch of us sat on the grass waiting for another bus and really got to talk, and get to know each other! It was the best Class Trip ever! I hadn't seen her since graduation, but we connected by e-mail about 25 years ag, and exchanged e-mail at least once a week.
She was one of a kind, and always had something nice thing to say about everyone she encountered. She had a memory like a steel trap. She was my "Philly Historian" always reminding me about the Philly goings on long after I moved to Connecticut after the Navy. Her e-mails always were up-beat, and usually included u-tubes from the old days 5th Street, Hotte Shoppes Wanamakers Christmas displays, or Sally Star, or Jerry Blavitt or any number of other nostalgia.
I met Kathy thru my old friend Jimmy Esmond. We would always connect at the reunions and thru emails. She will be missed by all who knew her. R.I.P. old friend Mike
