I went through Julia Ward Howe Elementary School with Wayne but our paths didn't cross at Olney.  I have a Halloween picture of our class on the front steps of the school.  Wayne was dressed as an Indian Chief.

Wayne & I dated momentarily as 13 year old freshmen. He was sweet, generous & thoughtful. He walked me home from school & bought me a Beach Boys album at Zapf's Music Store. He invited me to his home for a special family dinner & I was so impressed with their kindness, the fancy meal & elegant table setting. Gorgeous crystal stemware with fruitcup! The grapefruit slices were too big & I couldn't figure out how to cut them & felt so inept. Then I started sneezing & coughing & wanted to just disappear, I felt so awkward!
I have no memory of how we became friends or why we stopped being friends.
How appropriate that he ended up living in Ocean City, what with his love of surfing.
