Anatole Bereshnyi

Tony Bereshnyi 1949 ~ 2008 Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend lost his battle with brain cancer on July 27, 2008. He was born May 13, 1949 in Mons, Belgium to Paul and Alexandra Bereshnyi. Though born in Belgium, and spending most of his life in the U. S., he was proud of his Ukrainian heritage. He earned a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Spring Garden College, and later a B.S. in Computer Science. He married Eugenia Wons on September 18, 1971. They raised two children, Christopher John and Natalie Jean. He worked for several computer technology companies as a systems analyst, his last employer being MTI. His outgoing and humorous personality won him many friends. He was kind-hearted and generous, and didn't hesitate to help others. His love of sports led him to coach youth soccer and to hold season tickets for the University of Utah football games for 15 years. He also received much enjoyment from gardening and photography. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Lydia. Survived by his wife, Eugenia; son, Christopher; daughter, Natalie (Chip) Dance; two grandchildren, Stefanie Jean and Alexander Michael; and brother-in-law, Ivo Wons. Everyone whose life has been touched by Tony is invited to say farewell. A vigil service will be held on Friday, August 1, 2008, 7 p.m. at the Neil O'Donnell & Sons Mortuary, 372 E. 100 S., Salt Lake City. Friends may visit Friday, 6-8:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Sat., August 2, 2008 at 1 p.m. at The Cathedral of the Madeleine, 331 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City. Committal Service, Mount Calvary Cemetery, 4th Ave. and 'T' St. Special thanks to the staff and residents of Federal Heights Rehabilitation for their kindness. In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations to, the Good Samaritan Program, 331 East South Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah.

Jessica Smith (McGowan)

He was a nice, pleasant guy.  I hope his family and friends are comforted by his passing.

I didn't know him although he looks familiar.  Still, I hate to lose another one of us.  My deepest condolences to his loved ones and friends. May he rest in peace.

Marjorie Logan (Macartney)

I remember Anatole from Howe Elementary School.  Although we didn't share many classes in Olney, I remember him as a very nice young man.  One day in the mid 1970's I happened to meet him on the street and we stopped for a chat.  He was out walking with his little boy and it was a bit of a shock for me to see him as a grown man, husband and father.  Both he and his sister died much too young.
